Maribel Perpiñá
Barcelona, 1961.
She is a cultural producer and teacher. She has a degree in Financials and in Audiovisual Communication. She currently teaches artists in project management and production, she is a member of the Programs Commission of the Production Centre Hangar and the director of laPinta cultural association.
She was the director of the video festival Off Loop 2004, Barcelona, co-producer of the video festival FIAV 05 and producer of the exhibition Video Shop 2002 (Portugal), showing of video art in the public space. As director of the video art space at Mário Sequeira gallery (Portugal) she curated individual exhibitions of Catarina Campino, Mathilde ter Heijne and Andreas Kauffmann, among others. She also curated collective exhibitions such as Se busca, Ho fem per a tu disculpa les molèsties and Post Portugal, in collaboration with Pilar Cruz, with whom she founded laPinta.
She also had co-produced projects of the artist Chema Alvargónzalez such as Temps de pas, 1995 (Barcelona), Available, 1995 (Santa Fe-New Mexico), Blue di Capri, 1994 (Italia) and Abbwsenheit, 1992 (Berlin). Her interest in the artists and curators training and in finding new financial channels for their projects led her to the publication "Se busca Curator" edition and to the future development of the platform sebuscacurator.org.
